There are many of you, out there, that are facing challenges.  It may be financially, or it may be in your faith.  Maybe, it is a little bit of both.  I’ve been where you are, and I understand the enormous burden that comes with financial pressures.  I know what it’s like being on your knees, crying out to God from your heart that all of your needs are met- and not understanding why you are even facing these challenges.  I also understand, however, that God is faithful, that His promises are real, and that He will never fail us.

There are those of you who are facing a similar issue.  It is my desire that this testimony gives you hope for God’s promises are yes and amen.  Scripture says that God is no respecter of persons- what He does for one, He does for all (Romans 2:11, Acts 10:34-35).  What God did for me, He will do for you as well.  All you have to do is seek, ask, pray, and believe.

Seek

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

This verse in Matthew actually begins with the point that God provides.  To summarize, it says makes the point that God provides for all of nature creating a perfect balance, so why would He not provide for His children?  It says that God knows what you need, and that He will provide.  It also goes on to tell you how He will provide.

The scripture tells you to “seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness”.  Why?  What does it mean?  It means to seek (put) God first.  It means to read your Bible, for in it you will find answers to whatever issues you may be facing.  God often speaks to us through His scriptures, but you can’t find answers if you aren’t first seeking God.

God knows what you are going through.  He is omnipresent.  He has also provided a way of victory as well.  All we have to do is walk in it.  When we seek Him first, and are obedient to walk in what He tells us, then we will see victory because He will bless us.  God knows the outcome, and will guide your path, but He can’t do that if you aren’t seeking Him.  When we seek God and put Him first, we walk in victory because He guides our path.  It may not be easy, but He will guide your steps into victory.

I meditated on this scripture for years.  It jumped out at me during my devotion time, and I spent time reflecting on its meaning.  When we put God first and walk in obedience, the blessings follow and flow from that.  By drawing closer in our relationship with Him, and trusting in His Word, He refines our character.  When we are obedient, God can bless us and trust us with more.  We find ourselves prospering in all areas.

Ask

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Luke 11:9

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:13

My journey actually began with asking, “Why am I in this situation?” followed by “How do I gain victory?”  God led me to the scripture above to sustain me during this time, and I still follow it today because I recognize that without God, I am operating on my own strength.  When I operate in my own strength, I wear myself out by spinning my wheels.  I can never do it on my own, it never gives God the glory, and nothing that comes out of it is glorious.  So why wouldn’t I save myself some hardship and just ask my Creator what to do?

To this day, I’m not sure whether I really know the why- although it may be revealed to me one day by God.  I can speculate why, but I can’t say that I know definitively.  God was faithful, however, to point me to the scripture, and made me the following promise, “I will always provide for  you and your family”.  It gave me peace, and I hung onto that promise whenever I felt my faith waiver.

There were times where we struggled to put food on the table, and diapers on the baby.  In the natural, it seemed like there was no way to have our needs met.  Yet each time, I prayed to God, and each time He told me that He would provide- that we would not lack.

Shortly after, friends (many of which had no knowledge of our situation) would think of our family and drop off food.  Sometimes, we found money in an envelop addressed to us at church, or waiting in our mailbox.  God always provided supernaturally when we needed it.  He never failed us- even when things looked impossible.

He provided money supernaturally when we weren’t able to pay our bills, and His provision was always enough.  When we fell behind in our mortgage, He was there to provide supernaturally.  He heard every cry from my heart, and gave me the same promise- that He was with me, and would provide through this season.

Through this, I learned that God is always faithful, and even in the darkest moments, He will never fail.

Pray

“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:22

It seems to go without saying, and coincided with asking, but prayer over your situation is essential.  I prayed each time it felt like we were falling.  I sought God throughout it all.  I accepted correction when God gave it.  The hardest moment for me came when I knew that we had to stand on our own- yet were still hit with financial struggles.  We were in faith, walking in obedience, and were still struggling.  However, this time, there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

We had made it this far, and it was time to make it on our own.  We were confident that God would provide because He was always faithful.  At the time, we were working hard at our places of employment to earn money, yet the results were slow.  We were falling behind in our bills- yet we still received favor- until one day, the bottom seemed to fall out.

Everything came tumbling down.  People were calling demanding payment in full, and were threatening to cut us off.  We were far behind on our mortgage and were concerned about losing our house.  We felt the crush of defeat as we felt like we were being forced into making decisions that we didn’t want to make.

Even though we thought that we were where God wanted us, we questioned whether we had heard from Him or not.  Maybe we misunderstood.  I almost gave up my calling thinking that maybe it was just a nice dream.  It was the most devastating moment of my life.

I prayed and cried out to God.  I reminded Him of His words to me (like He forgot!).  Then I had a dream, and in the dream, I saw the word, “bark” three times.  To me, it meant to speak out the promises of God to activate my faith.  I was to speak out what I needed because there was power in my words, and I was to speak with conviction.  Then, God would do the rest.

Believe

“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7

I received unspeakable peace, yet everything naturally had not changed.  It did change, however, in the spiritual realm.  Things began to turn.  Things changed at work and began moving in the right direction instead of remaining stagnant.  We stood on a scripture that was posted throughout our house of “money cometh”, and it did.  Money just inexplicable came- bank errors, rewards, and from people being obedient to the Holy Spirit’s prompting.  Money didn’t just trickle in, it FLOWED!

We are now, thankfully, out of this season.  What Satan intended for evil and destruction was overcome by God’s Word and promise.

It may sound like a Cinderella story, and you may be thinking, “well, that’s nice for you”.  However, God will do the same for you if you soften your heart.  I know it may be hard when you feel so defeated, but where do you have to go?  All you have is God.  You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain.

God’s promise is that we would prosper, and God doesn’t lie.  It does begin with seeking God first because in doing so, He will give you direction.  He can’t give you instructions if you aren’t seeking Him and asking Him, though.  Then, you have silenced Him.

God doesn’t receive the glory when we fall, nor can we be a blessing to others when we are strapped financially.  God can, however, turn our challenges around supernaturally so that you can bless others like you too were blessed.  Never forget what God has given you, and be thankful.  Then, when you walk in His promises, give Him the glory in a testimony.  It will encourage and help others.  It will build their faith, and point them back to God.

The journey begins with “seeking first the kingdom of God”.  That is our first step.  Then walk in obedience, and watch the blessings flow.

This was my story.  My heart’s desire has always been to impact lives for Christ in a mighty way.  God reminded me through this of my purpose- that others would not walk in defeat but know and be strengthened by the victory only found in God.

Each of us has our own story- our own testimony.  Know that if you are struggling, that God is still there right beside you.  He is waiting for you to talk to Him so that He can guide you into your victory.  Your victory will become your story, and will in turn comfort others.

We all have our own story that needs to be told.  Give God the glory by telling someone- witnessing to them.  You never know who you will encourage by doing so, and you never know whose life will be impacted.

If you do not know Christ, please read our Prayer of Salvation.  The beginning of your journey starts with accepting Christ into your heart.  For those of us struggling with finances, I pray God’s blessings pour over you, that money not only comes, but comes in abundance so that you can bless others.  I pray that you walk in your calling- in God’s plan and purpose over your life- and that you know the joy that comes with it.  I pray that God gives you peace over your situation, and gives you strength.  May God break every chain that holds you back, and may His blessings overflow.

God is always there, and always faithful.  That, I can attest to.

If someone  you know needs a word of encouragement, please share so that they too can be blessed.
