Ending the Pretending: Beginning to Heal By No More Faking Fine

Are you sick of pretending everything is ok? It’s time to end the pretending. Esther Fleece’s new release, No More Faking Fine, encourages us to take up the lost practice of lament- a prayer that is woven throughout scripture that God never ignores, never silences, and never wastes. Her book invites us to run to God with our sorrows as well as our joys. She assures us that it’s ok to not be ok. God hears our prayers of lament and meets us where we are.

Often, well-intending people offer up cliches when we are being met with challenges which leaves us feeling as if they just don’t understand.  Others tell us to suck it up, or just to continue to stand in faith.

However, God knows our heart and knows when we are “faking” it.  He will heal you where you are- without the pretending.

Esther began her journey believing she could silence painful emotions from a broken past that she tried to forget on her fast track to success.  However, in doing so, she removed the opportunity for God to step in and heal her.

No More Faking Fine takes us on this journey with Esther and encourages us to lament with her. In a personal interview with Kerry Nenn of Faith Filled Family Magazine, Esther Fleece gives insight into what shaped this work and how she hopes it impacts her generation.
