Dove Award winning singer, Mark Schultz, will appear on the cover of FFFM’s December issue.

Mark SchultzWe couldn’t think of a more fitting person, then to honour Mark Schultz for the December issue.  Mark recently released his first ever Christmas album, “Christmas” on October 26.  “Christmas” is a 10 track recording which features many common songs such as The First Noel, Silent Night, and I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.  While many will read this and think, “same old songs sung in the same old way”, you would be wrong!  Mark adds his own “flavour” to the song, creating a unique sound to old favourites.

In addition to Christmas classics, Mark does add his own song to the mix as well.  “Different Kind Of Christmas” which went viral on Facebook, and occupied the number one spot on iTunes Christian & Gospel Songs chart will be featured as well.

“This is a special song for me and my family,” shares Schultz. “I wrote it with my wife after her dad passed away. It was our first Christmas without him, and Kate was decorating for the holidays. She came into the garage holding a box of ornaments and had tears streaming down her face. She said to me, ‘it’s just a different kind of Christmas this year.’

“At some point in our life, we will all lose someone that is close to us, and that first Christmas without them is a tough one to get through,” continues Schultz. “I hope this song will bring comfort to those who are mourning the loss of someone this season.”

Additionally, Mark Schultz will be performing live on December 1 on the 2018 Nashville Christmas Parade which benefits the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.  Mark will be performing his version of “Little Drummer Boy”, and the event will be televised.

Faith Filled Family Magazine was privileged to be able to interview Mark regarding his first-ever Christmas album, and discussed the meaning behind “Different Kind of Christmas”.  We not only spoke to him about his lengthy career, but he also shared with us family memories- some of which will make you laugh, and some will make you cry.

Rekindle the importance of faith and family over this holiday season with our December issue coming out on November 26.
