Inspiration Worship Album Came From A Personal Place

inspirationInspiration Worship originated from a very personal place.  It was December 2011 when Linda went to the doctor with difficulty breathing.  It took 7 lung taps over the course of six weeks and several test to discover that she had Stage IV cancer.  After not being able to breathe properly for six weeks, and undergoing chemo, Linda understands that every breath is a gift.  Inspiration, meaning a “single inhale” is the breath of God providing life.  Worship is the exhale of gratitude we send back to Him.  Additionally, after three bouts with cancer, neither Linda nor her husband desires to waste a single breath.

Take Me

Take me is a good song to listen to start your day. It has just the right upbeat rhythm that woke me up and made me dance. It is not the type of song that is too upbeat, this one is really just right and nice. Take Me talks about seeking and surrendering to God as the lyrics said, “Take my everything.” I remember the verse from Psalm 46:10, that says “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (ESV) This is the kind of surrender that we should do to let God be God. The lyrics reminded me to seek God first and always obey God.

One God

One God is another lively praise song by Linda Doane. The lyrics of the song remind us that there’s only one God as the book of Deuteronomy says, “To you it was shown, that you might know that the LORD is God; there is no other besides him.” (Deuteronomy 4:35 – ESV) The song also tells some characteristics of our God. It is like a combination of the verses in the Bible that reveal who God is.

A Scepter and Crown

It is rare to hear a song about the second coming of Jesus especially if the song is lively. The song reminds us that Jesus is coming soon as He promised in Revelation 22:20: “He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!” (ESV) A Scepter and Crown describes how Jesus will come back. It reminded me that Jesus is victorious.

Roar

The song Roar warns about the lies of the enemy as it is written in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (ESV) The lyrics of this song warn us that the enemy’s whisper will roar especially when our faith is being tested because the enemy is ready to attack, but Jesus came to give us life and to redeem us.

I Can’t Fix You

This song reminded me that we are only human, and our capabilities are limited, but God is powerful and limitless in power. Whatever happens, we should pray and submit our worries to the Lord. Sometimes we feel helpless like the first part of this song, I felt the pain and test of Linda Doane in this song. The song, “I Can’t Fix You” reminded me that God is always with us and that “The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Exodus 14:14 (ESV)

Powerful Lie

This is another lively song which also warns us about the lies of the enemy. Also, the song tells us about Jesus’ miracles and teachings. We can even move mountains. Our faith is powerful. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (ESV) This song reminded me of what Jesus can do to my life. If Jesus opened the eyes of the blind, I can trust Him to open the eyes of unbelievers too because faith comes from God.

The Blood

The Blood is a song that reminds us that we are set apart because Jesus paid our sin that we cannot pay. It also reminds us that we are already forgiven and there’s no condemnation because we are covered by the blood of Jesus. The song encourages us to praise the name of Jesus because He is the only one who can cleanse us from our sins as the apostle Paul wrote, “And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:11, ESV)

All I Am

All I Am is a song that describes my life before Jesus and how He changed my life. The song tells every single detail before I knew Christ, but it also encourages us that Jesus pursues me everyday. This song made me sing because I can relate to the lyrics of the song. Thanks be to God as because He made me new like in the verse, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV)

Never Let Me Go

Never Let Me Go is an encouraging song that reminded me that God is faithful and how he pursues us every day. The song tells us that God is faithful to His promises as He promised Joshua, No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. (Joshua 1:5, ESV) Well, I can’t count how many times in the Bible that tells us that He will be with us and He is faithful. It is a good praising and encouraging song that reminds us that God will never let us go.

Heaven Reigns

As the title says, “Heaven Reigns” is another encouraging song that tells us that God is victorious to turn our mourning into dancing. It has a nice tune and lyrics that made me sing as the song says that God breaks the chain and the name of Jesus is powerful as the psalmist wrote: “He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart.” (Psalm 107:14, ESV) The song tells us that all of our sins, shame, and all are done on the cross.

Rise Up

Rise Up is a nice lively song that can make me sing and dance. The song encourages that God called us for His purpose as Jesus commanded before He goes back to heaven,  “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19–20, ESV)

You Never Change

This is another song that made me sing while praising Him. The melody and the rhythm of the song are very nice to the ears with encouraging lyrics matched with it. While listening to this song, I can imagine that this is a perfect official soundtrack of the next inspirational movie. The lyrics also tells us who God is when you first know Him and who He is now that He doesn’t change. In the book of Hebrews, it says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV)

CONCLUSION:

I enjoyed listening to Inspiration Worship album, it made me sing, it made me dance, it made me praise God while singing along with the music. The songs are not too upbeat and too mellow that will make you cry. The lyrics are very encouraging. I can recommend this album to my small group, ministry and other friends.
