Never Alone is a very cool debut album of a husband and wife team, Seth and Nirva, released by Integrity Music. The album will engage listeners to sing, dance, praise and worship. Listeners can hear music from famous artists such as Michael Farren (Let It Rain), Mia Fields (Savior King), Jacob Sooter, Israel Houghton, TobyMac, Victor Oquendo and BJ Putnam who were involved in collaboration in this outstanding album. The couple has a unique style, and the album is very different from the worship songs that I’ve heard. According to Seth, their style is “diverse and doesn’t fit well to traditional genre category”. Listen and be blessed with this album that inspires and encourages people to come closer to God.
Songs on Album
You Are In Control
A very cool rhythm that made me sing and dance in the morning to start the day right after doing my morning devotion. The song tells us God holds everything in this world as well as our life with the power of His hands as it is written, “The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble. (Proverbs 16:4 ESV)” God knows everything like our future, plans, and He has a lot of promises to us, we just have to keep trusting God in all that He does to our life. In Isaiah 55:8 (ESV) God said, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.”
Pour It Out
The voices of the three singers Seth, Nirva and Dj Maj made a good rendition with a little rap in a short part but then encouraged the listeners to praise God, clap the hands and worship God. They ended the song with a slow melody then fade. Just like the psalmist said in Psalm 33:3, Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. (ESV) This is a new song that sings praises to God and tells everyone how good God is. This song has a lively melody, and is good to play in events, parties and also, when you are driving.
Great Are You Lord
Nirva’s beautiful voice has been highlighted in the beginning of the song, but then the couple’s vocals entwine in a duet as the song plays. The melody is slow, but is full of conviction. The song says our God is great for doing great things in our life like restoration, giving us hope and life just like in the verse that says, For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. (Psalm 95:3 ESV) No one can do greater things than our God. A line in the song is based on the verse in Psalm, ” All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.” Selah (Psalm 66:4 ESV) Let’s praise our Lord, Jesus with this new song of praise.
Brother has a cool melody that left me in a positive mood in my difficult, busy day. The song has a short rap by TobyMac. The song reminds us to love our enemies taught by our good teacher, Jesus and he said, “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,” (Matthew 5:44 ESV). The song tells us that our enemies are also our brothers; it means that we should love our enemies.
Should’ve Been Mine
Should’ve Been Mine is a song about Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross as a sacrificing Lamb of God that He actually didn’t deserve. We as sinners should be there on the cross dying for our sins, but the Father is merciful and loving that He gave His only son, Jesus for us. Jesus is an obedient son of God, who redeemed us for our sins so we can be holy in the eyes of the Lord. “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:13-14 ESV) This song reminded me how a King of Kings will sacrifice for me, the melody is slow that is good to use for solemn seeking God’s presence and prayer meetings.
Be With Us
The song encourages the listeners to come closer to God because Jesus is the only answer to all of our trials. It is a song that is asking God for His presence to be with us as it is written in the book of James it says, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (James 4:8 ESV) Another part of the song it says that “I want to hear from you, speak to us Lord.” The melody is slow and more of seeking God that is good to add in a solemn prayer meeting.
The cool rhythm and melody of the song tell us how much God loves us unconditionally and it encourages the listeners to say “I love you, God.” The song is based on these verses from the book of Romans, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39 ESV) There’s really nothing can separate us from the love of God.
Never Alone is a good song to remember that God is always with us no matter what happen. Featuring Schlock who made the rap in the song, it made more cool rhythm. The song encourages the people to come and worship God. It is a motivating song that tells us that God is with us and He said in (Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV) “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” It is just one of God’s promises to us that He will be with us.
You Are With Me
This is a very motivational song that reminded me of God’s promise to Joshua after Moses’ death, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 ESV) The words in verse were the lyrics of the song. The melody is easy to follow that I was able to sing with it even on the first time that I hear it.
Love Never Fails
The song tells about how much God loves us and He showed that by giving His only son, Jesus Christ. Just like what it is written in the book of Lamentations, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end” (Lamentations 3:22 ESV). From slow to fast rhythm, the lyrics keep reminded us that God’s love never fails.
We Won’t Back Down
The song has a lively melody that can be used for parties and worship night events. The lyrics tell us that we won’t be shaken and God is doing something to new. It is an inspiring and lively song that will make you dance. It reminded me of a verse that tells us to keep holding on to God, it says “He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.”(Psalm 62:6 ESV) We won’t really back down if we keep in mind that behind us there’s an almighty God who can do anything.
